After spending a semester abroad in Kalmar, Sweden, he returned to Danny Dressler He returned to Germany and lived with his grandparents for a few weeks. There he experienced a situation that touched him deeply - and changed him forever.
His grandfather recently had a Stroke and was undergoing physiotherapy at home. This consisted of a simple exercise sheet with generic movements. Although a therapist came by occasionally, there was no targeted training or systematic recording of progress. There were simply not enough resources for more intensive care: too few staff, too little time - and too little individuality.
Danny, at that time a student of Sports and exercise science, a fundamental question arose:
Why is there no intelligent system that supports people individually - regardless of age, origin or state of health?
2013 the first idea of a AI-supported training system, which records and analyses movement data and derives personalized training programs from it. At that time, there were hardly any objective methods for detecting movement outside of professional laboratories - even though they were the key to a personalized training program. Individual movement therapy would be essential. The idea for AIMO™ was born.
After his studies, his path led him back to Kalmar in Sweden, where in 2016, together with Christoph Brandin and Eduard Rall AIMO GmbH founded. The goal: Making movement measurable, understandable and accessible - for everyone.
From the very beginning, a central component was the development of a reliable, mobile motion detection system. A key partner soon joined the team for this technological challenge:
Prof. Dr. Welf Löwe, Professor of Computer Science at the Linnaeus University in Växjö/Kalmar and expert in intelligent software systems, was immediately convinced by the vision. With his expertise in the field of Computer vision and AI he made a significant contribution to the further development of scanning technology. Through the company he founded at the same time Softwerk He also provided valuable development resources and accompanied AIMO in its first years as a Scientific mentor and technological pioneer.
Later came Stephanie Dorsch as a strategic driving force. She supported the development of AIMO in an early growth phase with know-how from Innovation, management and organizational development. With her expertise, she helped to structure the processes surrounding product development, go-to-market and team management. For AIMO, she became a central bridge builder between research, product development and user needs.
Danny Dressler is Sports scientist, entrepreneur and visionary with the mission of making modern prevention accessible to everyone through technology. During his studies at the University of Stuttgart, he already combined movement with artificial intelligence - his Thesis on probabilistic models in endurance sports formed the cornerstone of his current work.
Eduard Rall is co-founder and technical manager of AIMO GmbH. He is responsible for the entire technological development and has been driving forward the vision of an intelligent, AI-based movement system since the very beginning. With extensive experience in Software architecture, mobile app development and cloud infrastructure he shapes the technological DNA of AIMO.
Stephanie Dorsch is Head of Operations at AIMO GmbH and is responsible for the operational implementation of various projects - from internal process optimization to external partnership design.
One of her key achievements at AIMO was playing a key role in the successful ZPP certification of the AIMO app (§ 20 SGB V).
Prof. Dr. Welf Löwe is Professor of Computer Science at Linnaeus University in Sweden and is one of the leading minds in the field of data-intensive software technologies. With over 120 scientific publications and more than 3,000 citations he has contributed significantly to research in the fields of software analysis, machine learning and AI-based optimization.

AIMO is backed by an interdisciplinary team from the fields of sports science, neuroscience, medicine, AI development and digital health promotion. Our experts combine in-depth specialist knowledge with years of practical experience - in therapy, research and prevention.
Whether in the development of neurocentric training, the design of individual exercise programs or the scientific validation of our methods, our specialists work every day to make health through exercise measurable, effective and accessible - for people of all ages.
Manuel Ziegler is Sports scientist, athletics trainer and founder of the DNA GYM. With Over 30 years of experience in training, coaching and health management he contributes his expertise to the development of AIMO exercises and the training concept. His focus is on holistic movement and individual performance optimization. Martin Kober is a co-founder of AIMO and was one of the first users of the AIMO scan. As an experienced physiotherapist, he contributes his practical expertise to the development of the movement scan and ensures that the training concepts are suitable and effective for everyday use. Dr. Sebastian Schulz is an expert in digital health solutions and is involved in the AIMO projects EZIB and LOUISA. His focus is on the development of AI-supported systems for pain detection and movement analysis in order to implement innovative, patient-centered prevention approaches. Luise Walther is an expert in neurocentric training and modern health education. She combines in-depth knowledge of neuroscience, therapy and training with innovative approaches to prevention, performance and quality of life. With AIMO she was responsible for the conception and integration of the neuro-based training into the app.
Today, AIMO is more than just a start-up. With funded research projects such as LOUISA (in cooperation with the University of Tübingen and Ulm University Hospital), EZIB and one ZPP-certified prevention app and applications in the Insurance, fitness and health sector AIMO reaches people where they move - in everyday life, at work and at home.
What once began as an exercise sheet has now become a digital system for intelligent prevention - and a living example of how personal experience, scientific curiosity and technological innovation can work together.
With the AIMO motion scan, which is carried out using a smartphone camera, the team developed a system that is unique in the world. Movement skills objectively analyzed. Based on this, training is created that is precisely tailored to the individual needs of the user.
Whether at home, at work or on the move - AIMO enables personalized exercise promotion exactly where it is needed. The app combines modern exercise science with Artificial intelligence, to revolutionize health promotion in the long term.
